On 11th March, eager fashion hunters flocked to Debenhams department store on Oxford Street for a catwalk spectacular, showcasing the latest fashion and beauty trends for the Spring and Summer season.
As well being able to view the latest styles in the catwalk show from big fashion names including Jasper Conran and Henry Holland, guests were treated to beauty demonstrations and free personal style advice by Patrick Grant of Saville Row Taylors, Hammond & Co.
Sound Division were asked to provide the technical production for the catwalk event which incorporated mood lighting around the central atrium area of Debenhams and profile lighting to illuminate the models as they walked down the escalator and onto the catwalk, parading in front of the VIP guests seated in front of the fully refurbished Bistro within the new designer shoe hall.
Eight Robe 600 LED wash lights were placed on low level plinths around the balcony of the atrium to flood light down into the catwalk area with a warm white light while eighteen Chauvet WELL 2 Wireless LED uplighters illuminated the atrium pillars and walls. In addition, ETC Source Four Junior profiles were used to light dark spots around the escalator. For sound reinforcement, Sound Division provided a D&B E Series sound system, running through a Yamaha LS9 digital desk, to ensure high quality background music and clear speech reproduction from the compère who used a Shure ULX handheld radio microphone.
The production and technical crew were managed by Gordon Clarke with a demanding set up carried out the previous evening once the store had closed, to adhere to Health & Safety regulations. The full production then needed to be ready to start at 6.30pm the following evening.
David Graham, Director of Sound Division, commented; "The show was a fabulous success for all involved and attracted a full house. Both Debenhams and the contracting PR agency were delighted with the overall effect created and the positive feedback from audience".
