Dunhill

Sound Division support Dunhill fashion show

Event specialists, Sound Division were called into action during London Fashion Week recently, as a number of collateral events were staged around the fringe, and A-list celebs turned out in force.

One of the higher profile shows was at Dunhill's refurbished store at 48 Jermyn Street, where among the guests were Rachel Hunter and Kimberly Stewart. Dunhill's in-store fashion show was organised by production company Jn Casting & Production, who in turn recruited The Sound Division Group to supply the audio visual reinforcement.

Chris Baxter's team were tasked with putting a white Electrovoice SX300 PA system into the store, lighting the catwalk with PAR 64 and PAR 56 lamps and supplying industry-spec DJ equipment for the glitzy show and party, including a camera relay to the dressing room.

Additionally, Sound Division had to screen off the changing area, lay a white carpet catwalk for the models, gel the 50 or so in-house lighting fixtures (using a Rosco straw colour), add some mood lighting to the space and operate the show.

Sound Division's head of events, Chris Baxter, admitted that this had been an exacting task for his team. "We had to work around the store’s opening times, going in the night before to pre-cut the catwalk carpet and undertake the full set up the following morning."

"It was challenging designing and positioning a catwalk in a modern lifestyle store — incorporating an old-fashioned Barbers shop on the first floor and a smoking room for VIPs — but it was thoroughly enjoyable."

James Glanville project managed the event for Sound Divsion and designed the set in conjunction with James Noel of Jn Casting & Production, who are specialists on the London fashion and party scene. Catering was provided by Last Supper.
