Browns Hotel gets sound treatment from Sound Division
Sound Division has recently supplied a fully iPod-driven distributed background music system in the spa and treatment rooms at the legendary Browns hotel in Mayfair. One of London's most historic hotels, the emphasis at Browns is on intimacy and quintessential English charm. However, this has not stopped the hotel opting for a thoroughly modern background music solution for their spa and fitness centre.
The system is based on a number of Opus MS micro ceiling speakers distributed throughout four zones: The first zone comprises reception and the main corridor; treatment rooms one and two make up the second zone; treatment room three is the third zone, while the fourth zone is the gymnasium. Sound Division has supplied three Cloud RL1 remote volume control panels and two Cloud mixers amplifiers; a four-zone Cloud 46/50 for zones 1-4 and a separate Cloud MPA-626 single zone device for the gymnasium. Acting as the music source for the entire system Sound Division also supplied two 4-Gb 1000-track capacity Apple iPods which they loaded up with music for Browns.
"It's always nice to be involved in innovative little jobs like these," noted Sound Division's David Graham. "It's good to see an historic and traditional establishment like Browns make use of modern technology such as the iPod at the heart of their music system, and even better that they asked us to do it for them! We look forward to developing the relationship in the future."
