Sound Division supply sound stage for Comic Aid evening
The Sue Harris Bone Marrow Trust finds and matches donors of rare blood tissue types, a vital life-saving service, and like so many voluntary organisations trying to keep going during times of recession, it’s no laughing matter, when it comes to attracting charitable support.
However, it was indeed ‘No Laughing Matter’, the headline title of a comedy evening organised by Adam Cohen Films in association with Roxborough Films, filming the entire evenings event. Aiming to raise both a laugh and donations for the worthy cause , appearances were made by comedians regularly featured on the London stand up circuit, including Adam Bloom, Mark Maier and Sol Bernstein.
Sound Division MD, David Graham was pleased to be asked to lend active support when Sound Division were called to play a key role by supplying both a sound reinforcement system and a stage set for the evening, held at The Adelaide, Primrose Hill, London on Tuesday 20th April, 2010.
Sound Division’s technical team set up a combination of EV sx 360 powered speakers for front of house with EV sx80s to handle rear of audience and a 3m x 2m black, carpeted stage with accompanying rear, black drape backdrop.
The stand up comedians were provided with a handheld, corded Shure SM58 Beta microphone and Shure ULX Tie Clip (‘Levalier’) Radio Mics were worn for a series of specially performed sketches.
Sound monitoring was under the control of an Allen & Heath 16 channel mixing desk, engineered by Sound Division’s Raffi Cirigliano.
The event organiser, Adam Cohen, was impressed with the level of service and support, especially under a tight set up schedule, "I just want to say thank you again for your efforts and those of your Sound Division team. As we discussed, the evening went very well, the room looked great and the time and care you all took to get the PA as good as possible within the time available is much appreciated. Please pass on my appreciation to the rest of the guys".
