Novikov’s live performance area gets off to a flying start
This month, Mayfair’s renowned Novikov restaurant and bar has launched a trial run of weekly live cabaret style music and dance acts for the enjoyment of their guests in the basement bar.
In preparation for these performances, Sound Division supplied a live performance package including a set of Shure radio microphones and stands, a Yamaha mixing desk and DI boxes.
A particular highlight of this has been a very special performance by Réjane ‘Zaza’ Magloire, vocalist of 80s group Indeep and singer of the classic ‘Last Night A DJ Saved My Life’. Rejane had been dining in Novikov’s Pan Asian restaurant following an appearance at a music awards gala. While enjoying after dinner drinks in the basement lounge bar, Rejane decided to get up on stage for an impromptu performance of the classic song.
Réjane is an ambassador for the Last Night A DJ Saved My Life Foundation and was able to promote this worthy cause to the Novikov clientelle. Launched by Danny Rampling, the foundation unites the global dance music community to raise vital awareness and funds for humanitarian and environmental causes.
It was a stunning performance and Réjane got the whole room dancing, leaving everyone on a high.
