Sound Division's 'merry' after-party with Robin Hood
The Sound Division Group rode deep into the Forest to help stage the after-party to launch the new BBC Series Robin Hood.
They were contracted by the BBC to provide sound and staging for the glittering party, which took place in the under-croft at the historic Banqueting House, once part of Whitehall Palace. (This was the sovereign's main residence back in the 17th century and the under-croft was his 'drinking den').
The theme of the interior was white and thus Sound Division Group had to décor match with white stage, white DJ booth and white PA system. Their own contracts manager Elliot Patterson took on DJ duties for the night, operating in a white perspex surround off Pioneer CDJ-1000 CD players and Technics SL1210 turntables, mixed through a Pioneer DJM mixer.
The PA system consisted of white columns of Electrovoice SX300 full range speakers, while the subs were given a white surround. The 8ft square stage was covered in white carpet with white fascia boards.
"It was a superb night and it all went really well," appraised Natasha Maclean, from BBC's Research, Events & Publications department.
Filmed in Budapest, the £8m, 13-part series (starring Jonas Armstrong and Lucy Griffiths) will begin transmission in October.
